The Ambition of Oda Nobuna Blu-ray
About The Ambition of Oda Nobuna Blu-ray
This The Ambition of Oda Nobuna complete collection contains episodes 1-12.
Yoshiharu Sagara thought he knew his Japanese history backwards and forwards, but when he inexplicably finds himself in the past everything he thought he knew was wrong and he's in a very different history altogether! Not only is this timeline's version of the legendary (and very male) Oda Nobunaga now the cute (and very female) Oda Nobuna, but one of the first things Yoshiharu manages to accidentally accomplish is getting one of the Sengoku era's most important historical figures killed!
Still, when you're stuck in the past, have a semi-reliable knowledge of one possible future, and there's now a vacancy in the history books, what's your best present course of action? Aligning yourself with someone with the potential to become one of the most powerful warlords in any of Japan's possible histories might not be a bad start. Provided, of course, that you can keep yourself from becoming too intimately involved in the cloak and dagger action during a time when the cloaks cover body armor and the daggers are paired with multiple swords! But that's just part of the risk you assume when your history becomes her story!

Ratings & Reviews
An interesting twist to the historic tale.
You are probably thinking that this is just another harem anime...well you aren't wrong. However this anime has gone about creating an interesting story using Japans feudal era, the Sengoku period, as its backdrop with a few alterations, mainly that the majority of the historical figures are now females! I really like how they went about it though as our MC is from the present(future) and uses his knowledge of Japans historical events to maintain history, that is until his own emotions get in the way. It's a nice twist on Japans historical events with some drama, comedy and romance mixed in to create a wonderful story. If you like stories about Japans history, harems, and cute little ninjas who trip over their words, then definitely give this one a watch.
I give this anime 5 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed the story and its characters.
I wanted to like this..
I really wanted to like this, but the series as a whole fell short. I forced myself to sit through 70% of the story before I stopped because I simply didn't care what happened to the Heros.
One of the elements I didn't care for, and didn't see in other people's reviews before I bought it, was the level of fan service in the show. I understand the cast is mostly females but the story simply didn't need to use fan service to break any and all tension or get a cheap laugh out of me.
What originally drew me to the show was the premise, someone being thrown back in time, but the problem I had was it's never really explained why or how he fell back in time. The plot as a whole progesses in a jilted almost episodic fashion, but I believe that this is the case with most 12/13 episode shows. The music and animation quality on the blu Ray was top notch and definitely worth the upgrade.
A twist in history
by Fred Friscia
It's a twist on ancient Japanese history with action, comedic moments that you'll enjoy throughout the serious. I couldn't stop watching it until I finished the last episode. So whoever likes anime and history together, will be pleasantly pleased.

Depending on your interests you might find it hard to find in a sea of a series of re-tellings & alternate mash-ups or stories of characters being posed by the great warrior Oda Nobunaga, a decent show that is well rounded likewise acceptable in it's premise. For me in my opinion this was the one. I had been wanting to get it ever since i saw it when it first aired & thankfully i was able to get it a year later lol, but hey i got it.
While not being too extremely far-fetched for being fiction & overly 100% in-accurate like most of the other shows. Some of which definitely relied on way more fanservice than what might have been needed to get an audience, this was a welcome hidden gem after dealing with all of those.
Whether if your a fan of Japanese history or not or know anything at all about it's history in particular the Sengoku period, this show offers a lot here & there in the form of drama, comedy, romance all in one ambition of a 12 episode run that looks gr8 on Blu-ray.
