Ikkou's parents send him to the Saienji Temple to train to become a proper monk under the watchful eye of his grandmother. Voice Actors not really trying.

by

This happens with every company. You have great voice actors and actresses in poorly cast roles. The cast does not sound like they care at all in this series. The voices change in the middle of it, and nobody sounds like they put in any effort what so ever. To me, it seems like the casting director and the ADR director just didn't care.

great series

a good funny harem series if u like comedy and don't mind a lil harem I recommend this

less than I expected

It does have dynamic characters but from what I have seen so far each episode follows the same exact pattern. It kind of ruins the surprise and ruined it for me. It would be as it you were reading a book and knew that someone would die or someone else would turn evil without getting there yet. Still it is not a bad amount of episodes for the price and does have humor here and there. It just wasn't for me.

3.5-3.7 *s

ppl hating on the dub don't know how to alternate dub and sub titles.
this is an okay anime to watch dubbed. it isn't the greatest, but it isn't that bad either and it had some good fan service. I also got it at a good price on sale from Rightstuf, so how can I complain. watched it 2 times... or I wouldn't post a review.

Ok harem anime.

On the surface, Ah My Buddha appears to be another harem anime and that is about where it ends. This DVD set composes of both season 1 and season 2. For the most part of season 1 fallows a set formula. There is not much to character development and story till about the later third of the 1stseason. The series actually gets a little better with the 2nd season with the introduction of Kazuki. Kazuki actively goes after and tries to seduce Ikkou, while Chitose refuses to admit her feelings for him.
For a series that suppose to be a comedy, it falls short with its attempts at slapstick. Its strong point is the fan service and in season 2, it is more detailed. The series has left me wanting more, to the story and characters than what was given. If they every came out with a season 3, I would still give it a chance.
