What I thought of it.

For the first volume it delivers a good opening for the setting. I enjoyed the plot and the art is nice. Overall it’s very good for a magic type style of story. I would recommend.

my thoughts.

I wouldn't normally start a review with a meme, but well....
You: "Can we get some Negima!"
Mom: "We have negima! at home"
This is the Negima! at home

The first episode felt kinda like a bit of a rip off of that more well known and loved series. Not to say it really is, but there are a number of parallels. Art wise it's decent. A little too self censored for an ecchi series that focuses heavily on that aspect, but the character designs are good. Pacing wise, it feels very rushed, like trying to cram two volumes worth of material into one, so that the character development, and personalities aren't revealed well, but rather just shoved at you half formed. Perhaps future volumes will adjust the pacing better, and we will get to know the people in a more natural and organic way, and have the plot unfold, but with volume 1, it just seems hurried and incomplete.
