About Actually I Am... Blu-ray

Actually, I Am... the Complete Collection contains episodes 1-13.

Normally, Asahi Kuromine can't keep a secret. He can't tell a lie, and he definitely can't keep other people from guessing what he's thinking. It's so bad that his friends and classmates alike both call him a "leaky basket"--and baskets already leak! So what's he to do when he's got a crush on a girl? Confess, of course.

Unfortunately, the object of his affections is Youko Shiragami. Beautiful, mysterious... and a vampire! In the process of trying to get rid of one secret, he gains another. The problem is though, if this one gets out, Youko will have to leave the school and disappear from his life forever. Can Asahi do the impossible? And don't think Youko is alone--everyone at this school is hiding a secret! What's this leaky basket to do?

Actually, Pretty Good

by -

Does a good job following the story of the original first few books. All the characters are there and well done. I and my friend actually really enjoyed it very much though...
The art style is a little different, but it looks good. I would have prefered one that more closely followed the mangas look but it's very close especially during the more comical moments.
No Dub. While the story is great and the translation seems quite good as a disabled veteran it's very hard for me to enjoy a dub even with my basic japanese comprehension. Watching a dub for me is literally a torture on the eyes and patience as it entails a LOT of rewinding and pausing again and again, over and over. I honestly never buy them for that exact reason. This was a super rare exception and it didn't ruin the whole thing for me because I know the story rather well and had a friend who helped but it loses a star from me for not having one.

The anime is ACTUALLY really great!

Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa is a refreshing romance/comedy anime. The elements of a harem are there, but fortunately, this main character stays true to his heart! I read the manga while watching the series, and I was impressed with how well they stayed true to the story. Some elements changed a little, but I believe it didn't hurt the anime at all.
Asahi Kuromine has the reputation for not being able to keep a secret. Because of that, he has never been lucky in love. Things change when he discovers Shiragami's secret and promises to keep it. For his reward he... gets "friendzoned"! While keeping the secret of the girl he loves, Asahi learns many more secrets that he must now keep. The comedy is great, and the artwork is really good (different, but really good) for this truly unique story!
