About AKB0048 DVD

This AKB0048 Season 1 Complete Collection contains episodes 1-13.

The year is 0048, and in the wake of the great wars, all forms of entertainment have been banned by the dystopian and iron-gloved rule of the anti-music DES. To combat this threat to intergalactic harmony, a group of bold young women have resurrected the legendary J-Pop band AKB48 and formed an all new Band of Sisters: AKB0048!

But these rocking rebels aren't simply singers! Trained in combat as well as choreography, these striking strike team members are equally at home in concert halls and in the trenches. Under the leadership of the mysterious Sensei Sensei, they're ready to lay down their lives in order to make the universe a safe place for getting your groove on! And as a fresh new team of singer-soldiers join the cause and enter basic training, the batons and battle gear are about to be passed to a new generation of daring divas!

AKB0048 ROCKS!!!

by -

There are lots of anime focusing on the idol/slice of life topic, and sometimes they quickly start to fade away if these shows don't have some kind of commercial support with passing of time.
Even though the name is based in a real J-POP Idol group, it has an interesting plot development combining great sci fi battle with music and each one of the characters has a dream to achieve.
I recommend this anime a lot!!!

Don't be deceived!

I bought the first and second season of this anime on a whim (there was a killer sale and I couldn't resist expanding my collection) and honestly I wasn't expecting too much of from the series. Even though this presents itself as another shoujo anime that centers around idols at face value, don't be fooled this is actually a really great anime. If you enjoy science fiction (yes it's girls with giant robots, who could not like) and J-Pop (it's okay if you don't want to admit it) then this anime is definitely something you should pick up. Not only that, but the animation style is very pleasant and the incorporation of some 3D animation (think Karas) really enhances the idea of the overall characters.
So yes, I definitely recommend.

I saw the series first subbed and it was on sale so I just had to buy it
