About A Sign of Affection Manga Volume 1

A Sign of Affection manga volume 1 features story and art by Suu Morishita, the author of Shortcake Cake.

Yuki, who’s always been deaf, is used to communicating with sign language and her phone. But she’s not used to English, so when a tourist from overseas asks for directions, she nearly panics…until a handsome stranger steps in to help. His name is Itsuomi, and it turns out he’s a friend of a friend. A charismatic globetrotter, Itsuomi speaks three languages, but he’s never had a deaf friend. The two feel drawn to each other and plan a date on a romantic winter’s night…but Yuki’s friend is afraid that she might be setting herself up to get hurt. Could this be something real? Or will these feelings melt away with the snow?

A Beautiful Story!

by -

It’s very refreshing and I really like it! It gives an inside of JSL and to learn little words is nice and I also love how both characters so far expand their views of each other’s world! Can’t wait to see what it store next volume!

Awesome I love

Okay it's been a while since I found a shojo series that I like the story and art. The artist has improved too I already liked other works but this one I gotta say is great to have college students. I've been so use to reading HS. Its focus is on a a girl who is deaf and her use of Japanese sign language and I guess the male interests is gonna learn how to sign and about her? Dunno but this is looking great so I preorder next volumes.

A Unique Story

by

I've read the other works of suu Morishita before and I got to say that this story is the most unique. It focuses on a female protagonist who is deaf, who uses sign language to communicate with others. The male lead has an interest in languages, and wants to learn sign language from the protagonist. I especially enjoyed reading about their interactions with each other. It was really cute.

I found it interesting to see the differences between JSL and ASL. The art itself is gorgeous and there's a lot of details in the art. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys shojo manga.

Good Start

I like this series so far. The art is great and the story seems like it may go towards some light drama and/or love triangle. I really like how this series is set in college, I wish more stories were set past high school. It’s nice to see sign language and deaf characters in a manga. I plan to pick up this series as it’s published.

I bought this to see what all the hype was about and oh my goodness. This is possibly the most cutest and wholesome story I’ve ever read. I adore the characters and I’m obsessed with the plot. So cute it makes my heart feel like it’ll explode. I will be keeping up with this series and definitely recommend it!

Good read

I gotta say that my favorite genre is romance and this one is good, yuki a deaf girl falls for itsuomi who looks like your typically bad boy but in reality is not. “Let me into yuri world” made me think just like yuri what is this guy trying and to tell me i dunno reminds me of a silent voice but with out the bullying need to get me the rest of the vol cuz its a good read

Sweet and unexpected

I really enjoy this series so far. The art is superb and you can tell the author took time to get the sign language correct so it comes through clearly in a manga which can be difficult to do. I look forward to each volume and wonder what twists will happen. Highly recommend
