A Story of Relationships

by -

Fantasy much concerned with change and relationships. This is on the series as a whole rather than just Vol 1. It tells the story of the life of 4 Middle schoolers from the sea who start to attend school on land when their school closes. There is an undercurrent, from the less than amicable relationship between the people of the sea and those of the land which slowly shifts as the story progresses. There are also shifting personal relationships between people within the groups - and not all end well - as well as climatic changes influenced by the 'sea god'. It is a complex story and at times a little slow but overall it is worth watching. This is a very superficial look at the series due to length constraints and there is a lot to his story.

A long romantic trip

by

This is a wonderful romantic anime. The setting makes it special and you just want everyone to get what they want. You connect well with the characters immediately, even if some choices seem dumb or you just don’t agree with them. I really enjoyed this one!

I only regret missing out on the premium bluray edition

by -

With Mari Okada involved with this show, its emotional resonance is high. It's a relationship drama like never before with the two towns, one on land, one underwater. The way both towns function is just amazing to see. The op and ed theme songs were great, too. I watched them almost every time.

Truly underrated

by -

Lull in the Sea is a phenomenal anime. The animation is absolutely gorgeous and the characters are great. The story is very good however I prefer season 1 over season 2. Honestly, in a world where everything is “underrated” when people think anything is good, this is a truly underrated anime. I had never heard of this anime before I just happened upon the cover art when it was on sale. I looked it up and was interested and after watching it I couldn’t believe I had never heard of it before. One of my favorites now.
