Very well-animated and great story
by something526 -
I love that this movie finally got released into Blu-Ray, it makes the already bright animation more vibrant. Also, this story is for anyone who likes the time travel genre (it does a really good job at the consistency) and there is a hint of romance in there, but it is subtle and not overpowering the plot. I hope that anyone will also purchase this great movie!
A Great and Beautifully Made Film

This was an excellent film, I'd heard of this movie before, but hadn't the chance to see it, so I quickly picked it up once Funimation released it. The picture quality is top notch and the animation flows smoothly. Though Funimation didn't redub this, the original dub is supurb and really make the characters enjoyable. The story is slower and very much slice of life, it takes its time to build the characters relationships and show how they interacte with each other quite well. I found myself smiling like an idiot and gasping in shock numurous time throughout my intial viewing.
Overall its a masterful film and I recommend it to all who enjoy a slower paced movie with a great payoff and enjoy animation in general.
Time Waits For No One
Mamoru Hosoda has directed some of my favorite anime films, and this one, though older, is just as amazing as his other works. The animation is beautiful, complimenting gorgeous settings and breath taking story telling. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a slice of life tale about a tom boyish girl named Makoto, whose two best friends are guys. Clumsy and a little bit unlucky, Makoto stumbles through student life on a daily basis, until she comes across a time travelling secret. Exhilarated to be able to change some of her circumstances, she gives little thought to how it affects those around her. That is, until more and more bad things start to happen to those she loves, and she desperately wants to set things right, even if that means she gives up what is most precious. I picked up The Girl Who Leapt Through Time at a local shop, but it is worth every penny with it's charm and high re watch value. This is a film for anime and story lovers a like.
