It's the ultimate nightmare. One minute Shinichi Izumi is a normal teenager asleep in his bed. The next he's been infected with a deadly parasitic organism determined to devour his brain and turn his body into the planet Earth's new apex predator.
But Shinichi partially foils the attack and, instead of being consumed, finds that the creature known as Migi has taken the place of his right hand. Now forced to share the same body, the two must become unwilling allies. Migi isn't the only one of his kind, and unless human and parasyte work together, they'll both be killed as abominations.
Prepare yourself for a horrifying new world where the survival of the fittest and the survival of the human race are no longer the same thing. Monsters lurk behind every corner and every face as the human race becomes prey in Parasyte ~ the maxim!

Awesome Anime..But that price 0-0
I never heard of this anime till I received this item and the first 12 eps of this release made me want to watch more and I can't wait for the second part to be released ;)
As for the price is it worth buying this edition?
IMO I enjoyed the art cover and the mini items that came with it BUT for the price it is not worth buying , it comes with temp tattoos a cloth for glass cleaning and a bearbrick and nothing else , for the price you expect something extra like a poster or art cards something like that to justify the price they gave this release
If you are a collector like myself I say buy it as it does come with extra goodies even its not alot plus comes with bluray/DVD together but if you just wanna enjoy this anime I say buying the standard edition is the best way to go if you ain't a collector and even if you are when you wanna buy this version do your research and see if you can find it for cheaper ;)
Great show, disappointing LE Box Set
THIS IS ONLY A RATING AND REVIEW FOR THE BOX SET, NOT THE ANIME WHICH IS FANTASTIC.
I really am disappointed with this LE. This is not something that is worth the asking price and I'm glad I didn't buy it at that price.
Now while the chipboard box is beautiful and has a nice glossy cover, I noticed it already started to peel at the edges soon after taking the plastic off. That should not be happening that soon. The little goodies that come in the extra box within the chipboard box seems super cheap (barely worth the extra $10 and can all fit literally in the palm of your hand, together). Now if this had included ALL the episodes instead of just half or if the chipboard box at least had space for part 2, I could see it being worth the money. The BR/DVDs themselves don't even offer any additional features. Just a clean OP/ED.
Unless you HAVE to have the chip board box, I suggest getting just the Blu Ray or DVD.
Thriller at its finest
As a fan of the manga for years before the anime was released, I was excited to see this series be made into something it deserved to be. The transition was extremely well done and the cast for the Japanese dub was spot on. This series thrills from start to finish and shows such genuine change in the main character Shinichi as he struggles to accept the fact that he might be turning into a monster himself. The score for this series also stands out among a lot of other anime of recent times. Instead of your standard brooding tracks to accompany slaughtering humans or defending oneself from a parasyte's attack, we get a powerful electronic dubstep that mixes seamlessly.
Without spoiling to much for first time viewers, this show is a real standout among horror anime. The limited edition box set is a very awesome pickup for fans of the series or anyone looking for a bit of cool collectible swag to go along with their new show that's sure to please.
Awesome series. Bad Collectors edition
First off let me start by saying that I absolutely love and admire this series for what it has done. It takes some aspects of John Carpenters "The Thing" and Invasion of the body Snatchers and you if you put them together you get this series. I loved this series because of the characters and the way the develop over time in the series. This series is very gory and one of the more gory animes out there. I do suggest watching this if you aren't too fond of blood or horror series. I would give this series a 5 stars but the collectors edition wasn't worth what I paid for it. It comes with the blu ray as well as the dvd and some extra content such as a cloth for glasses, stickers, and a little toy. I would have loved to have a poster or some more extras in there besides what you already get.
Expensive for what is included

I really liked the show, but this edition is kind of disappointing. It was kind of a letdown for the price I paid. I recommend this if it's on sale. If you're just wanting to watch the show and don't care very much about the limited edition extras, I'd recommend just going with the blu ray. Unless you're a big collector of limited editions, stay away from this.
