good series

by -

Genshiken: Second Generation is a continuation of the prior two Genshiken seasons, that is still just as fun as a comedy to watch otaku growing as people to find their place in college and society. The Second Generation does a good job of telling the continuing story and developing the people and friends from the club and the people who recently graduated.

One drawback is that this Second Generation isn't a stand alone storyline, and it really helps to have watched the Genshike seasons 1 & 2, and that's part of the problem with the first two seasons being unlicensed. I'm glad NIS picked up the license to this season, but this season is unlikely to get a dub and no clue if NIS or someone else will get the license for the first two seasons. I still recommend seeing Genshiken: Second Generation as a good series, and if the other seasons get licensed it you'll pick up alot of things you missed the first time around and enjoy it more.

An amazing set for a great show

While the original Genshiken cast will always be my favorites, you can't help but enjoy the new club members as well. They're funny, their personalities are completely different from each others and doesn't seem like female copies of the old characters. But, the best part of this is undeniable "Madarame". He makes a return in this show, and ties a few plot points fans have waited for forever. However, he has a different voice actor, which pulls away a star from me.

As for the set itself, it's great. The box has some amazing art on both sides (and the spine!) with 2 DVD covers inside of it, and an artbook. The first cover mimics a PS4 game, which looks amazingly legit! The second cover is supposed to be a box for an action figure, which also works pretty well and fits the overall theme of the show. As for the artbook, it's everything you wanted. Interviews, episode summaries, art, etc.
