Ratings & Reviews
This movie has potential
by Jimmy T
The plot is a bit more clearer but, it is from the character pt of view so, it is very hard to determine if the movie is decent we will just have to see Evangelion 4.44. Besides the movie for what came with the package it really is not much but the DVD bare bones. I expected more since the customers had to wait almost 4 years before it's release. For the most part the movie was OK
was not thrilled

Feb 2016 - Just got my blur ray copy finally shipped and received today from right stuff. Fought for two hrs to get my blue ray player to play it. It wouldn't play in my tower or blue ray player hooked to my TV. finally watched it on a ps3 and its was a total letdown. Felt like I just watched a filler eps with no real story advancement. The slow pase and non explination of a 15 year gap felt just to wrong to pass over. This wasnt really a reboot more like a remaining of the Evan univers. They didn't explain the story well between where 2.22 leave off and 3.33 picked up or what happened to the main chrs. It just didn't have that evangelion feel like 1 & 2 did. The theatrical vr has its work cut out for it. My advice, watch reboot 1&2 then cut over to the classic end movies. 3.33 felt too out of place to recommend.... Rant over.
Appreciate the Style and the Storyteller
This movie is simply fun to watch. As you progress through the movies, you're not watching a repeat of the same movie formula. Every film has its own emotional compass, and that informs how the plot unfolds. Since this is the film before the finale, you can expect a darker tone.
Visually, this movie pushes the anime medium to its limits with seamlessly blended CGI animation and quality hand drawn techniques. The imagery is as intricate as it is eye-catching. The sound quality is good, but dialogue can be quiet-LOUD-quiet again, so be careful with your volume setting.
The story is not stand-alone. If you haven't viewed the other 2 films, please do yourself a favor and add them to your order. Films like Evangelion 3.33 are the result of painstaking attention to detail of imagery and events in order to deliver the biggest impact (no pun intended--fans will get it).
Worth The 2 Year Wait???
Bought this anime for my husbands birthday as this is one of his fav series and of course as a good wife I sat down and watched with him
Reason for the low score is not for the movie as the animation and everything was impressive but the actual AUDIO
What I mean about the audio is that we went up to 100 on the volume to actually hear what was being said in the movie, we thought it was the PS4 so we tried on the PS3 and regular bluray player but still the volume issue is still the same which is insane 0-0
As for the package I love the color and the book that came with it ,
Final Thought: I loved it all I just wish the volume wasn't messed up :(

This is the third part of the retelling of Evangelion. There are major changes to characters and story, so you do not need to have seen the original series to start this, only the last two films. The animation quality and visuals are top notch. You can see the attention to detail on individual frames.

so i watched this after binging both 1.11 and 2.22 and then finished this and after rewatching i loved it. the fact that this is completely different from the original series in terms of story progression i think its done well and in some instances its done better (especially kairus intro). and him and shinjis bonding felt more well done. also asuka with an eyepatch is so sexy XD.

-Delayed nearly two years
-Slower pace than the other movies
worth the wait
by ineldo -
As you all know we all had to wait for this movie to come out nearly two to three years and finally the wait is over. The wait might be over but what we got was excellence. The movie is filled with tons of action and suspense. If you haven't seen 1.11 and 2.22 you will be lost so I recommend that you watch those first. This movie continues the excellent story from 1.11 and 2.22 and was worth the wait it's an edge of your seat experience. A must buy or collect if you like the series or mechas/robots.
The Reimagining continues

Having seen the original series , the 3rd of 4 movies continues that path and in some ways presents a darker view of that future.
The product itself arrived on time and had no issues of abuse during transport.
